Cleaning out motorcycle radiator is one of most important regular maintenance items. A dirty radiator will cause ineffective running of coolant around your engine and lead to blockage and damage your engine further. In this article, we will tell you how to flush the radiator for your 1988 Kawasaki ZL250 Eliminator SE .
Step 1: remove parts attached to your radiator with your wrench: drain bolts, bleeder bolt and gas tank etc. These parts may affect the process of flushing it. Check your owner’s manual to see where your radiator locates.
Step 2: place a container under the radiator of your 1988 Kawasaki ZL250 Eliminator SE . You should control the distance between the container and your radiator in order to hold coolant and water.
Step 3: remove the cap of the radiator of your 1988 Kawasaki ZL250 Eliminator SE . Check your owner’s manual to see how to remove it. For some brands and models, it needs to be screw out while for other it need to be pressed in first and then it will unlock. Be careful! Coolant will drain out and enter into the container your have just placed beneath the radiator. Dump the coolant into a resealable container in order to dispose it reasonably.
Step 4: insert the bolts back and fill the radiator of your 1988 Kawasaki ZL250 Eliminator SE with water and loosen all the bolts again with your screw wrench to drain the water out. And then you should do this process for one or more times until the water draining out become clear. Now, the flushing work finished.
Step 5: add coolant or 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water into the radiator with a help of funnel. Remove the bleeder bolt once again and start your engine to pop out air pockets. And keep it run for several minutes to make it warm enough to open the thermostat and cycle the antifreeze through the engine. Now, you can turn off your 1988 Kawasaki ZL250 Eliminator SE .
Step 6: all more coolant or 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water until it reaches the line reads Full. Tighten all bolts and reattach the cap.
Step 7: clean outside of your radiator carefully.
